News > Exclusive survey for the Coach Tourism Council reveals the appeal of coach touring

Published 17 June 2013

The major benefits of going on a coach tour

  • everything being organised for you,
  • value for money and
  • stress-free travel

All were judged to be key reasons for taking a coach holiday in an exclusive survey carried out by Mail Newspapers on behalf of the Coach Tourism Council (CTC). Other elements such as

  • comfort,
  • good leg room,
  • modern facilities on board,
  • local pick-ups and
  • a flexible itinerary

were also voted as essential by those looking to book a tour by coach.

And all these elements are availble with Bakers Holidays!

In the survey of almost 1,500 people, 660 of whom were Mail readers, 1 in 4 had been on a coach holiday in the last 12 months - equivalent to 480,000 Mail readers - while nearly 50 per cent of respondents said they would recommend going on a day trip or coach holiday to their friends.

Asked what they liked most about coach holidays, 60 per cent said it was the fact that everything is organised, 57 per cent said value for money, 54 per cent liked them being stress-free while half liked the touring aspect and visiting multiple attractions. Those who did not want to go on a coach said they preferred other forms of transport and found them too restrictive (both 29%), uncomfortable (20%) and “not for people like me” (19%).

So where would you like to go..?
